Ak-Tash waterfall (Naryn) KG

Just after the city of Naryn on the way to the At-Bashi, the waterfall is situated some km before to arrive on the Kyzyl Bel pass. 

Ak-Tash Winter Yurt Camp KG

Ak-Tash (which means "white stone" in Kyrgyz) lies at the foot of the great forests of Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley. The red rock hills form an incredible contrast between the blue Issyk Kul lake and the large meadows covered with edelweiss. In summer, the Ak-Tash yurt camp provides a stopover for overnight stays if you come on horseback or by foot from the Jukku Valley or Jeti Oguz. In winter, yurts become a base camp for ski touring. An ideal place to enjoy the slopes of Siuttu Bulak, Giukiuro, Burgan-Suu, and the mountains overlooking the Kichi-Kyzyl-Suu Gorge. Gradients of more than 1500 meters and descents of more than 6 km are possible in this region. The hot springs of Chong Kyzyl Suu are located 4km upstream, before reaching the geophysical station located 4km higher than the springs.

Akbaital pass (Ak-Baital) TJ

Akbaital, Kyrgyz word meaning "white mare" is a pass of the Eastern Pamirs, located on the M41 motorway between Osh and Murghab. The height of the pass is 4655 meters. The highest point of the Pamir Highway. The pass is open all year round and it connects the Sarykolsky and Muzkol ridges and separates the Karakul Lake Basin from the upper reaches of the South Akbaital River (Murghab Basin). The climb from the Muzkol valley is relatively gentle, but on the south side it is steeper with several hairpin bends. The landscape is very mineral with the view of several glaciers located over 5000 meters. This passage was opened to vehicles in 1892 during the construction of the Russian military outpost.

Aksu CN

Aksu, this city in the north of East Turkestan, was certainly founded by the Kacharians between 3000 years and 2400 years BC, before being assimilated by the Uighur people. Its name means in Turk "white water". It is an oasis on the Silk Road, from the north, which bypassed the Taklamakan desert, between Kashgar and Kucha, but a starting point to connect Kyrgyzstan by the Bedel pass (on the Sino-Kyrgyz border) and allowed to connect Lake Issyk Kul (Kyrgyzstan).

Aksu-Jabagly nature reserve KZ

The oldest nature reserve of Central Asia was established in 1926, of 85'700 ha in size and located on the west end of the Talas Alatau range in Tolebiysk and Tulkubass districts of South Kazakhstan province and Jualine district of Jambul province. Two paleontologic sections of the reserve: Aulie and Karabastau are located apart. Biodiversity of Aksu-Jabagly is rich : 1704 flora species, 51 mammal species, 266 bird species, 11 reptiles species, 3 amphibian species and 5 fish species.

 

Aktau International Airport KZ

Aktau Airport  is an airport in Aktau Kazakhstan situated in 20 km from city center.

 The capacity was 450 passengers per hour and the total area of 13,400 m2, including the area occupied by the VIP and CIP halls. For the comfort and safety of passengers the terminal is equipped with the latest means of protection and security, as well as electronic and electromechanical systems. These include passenger telescopic ladders, racks of electronic registration, HVAC (heating and cooling system), FIDS (Alert System departures on the electronic scoreboard), X-ray scanners, CCTV, lifts and escalators.

Aerodrome Aktau class B can receive aircraft AN-124, Boeing-747-200, IL-76 and lighter, as well as helicopters of all types.

Aktobe International Airport is an airport in Kazakhstan located 1.5 km (0.93 mi) south-west of Aktobe. It has a small terminal with five airliner parking spots. 

Ak–Bura valley KG

Ak-Bura is a very long valley which has its source in the Kitchi Alay range. The city of Osh was founded at the bottom of the valley. The very important basin fills the Papan dam. One of the sights of the valley is the Red Mountains around the village of Kodjo-Kelen.

Ala Myschik cave KG

Ala Myschik Cave is set in a slot in the cliff face of the Ala Mischuk Too at the western end of the city of Naryn. The main chamber has a spectacular skylight 40 meters above the cave floor.  Side caverns extend east and west from the main chamber. 

 

Ala-Archa national park KG

The state natural Ala-Archa park — Kyrgyzstan of 2280 hectares, located in 41 km from Bishkek on a northern slope of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too at the height of 1600-4860 m. Begins with the high center of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too and stretches to the North to the Ala-Archinsky gorge

Landscapes of foothill steppes and the mountain woods where more than 600 species of the higher plants, including 70 species of trees and bushes, about 50 species of herbs grow, there are a lot of melliferous herbs and tannic plants.

The Siberian roe, capricorn, boar, roe, fox, wolf, hare, badger, ermine, porcupine, marten live архар; from birds are usual a stone partridge, keklik, ular.From Red Book animals meet a lynx Turkestan, a golden eagle, a humai, baloban; from rare species — a snow leopard and a signature stamp.

Serves as object of active tourism, since 1951 for what in the park ways and tracks are paved, the glacier and the falls of Joint stock company Sai of the same name is most often visited by tourists. The gorge enjoys wide popularity, in it about 150 routes are laid. There are walls up to 1100 m high and year-round climbing bases.

The entrance fee works. At the weekend the park is visited on average by one and a half thousand people. About twenty tons of solid waste are weekly taken out. 

In the park the small museum of the nature is located. 

The are interesting climbing spots.

Ala-Archa pass KG

The Ala Archa National pass is situated at the end of the Ala Archa valley, at the top of the Ala Archa glacier (West). From entrance of the park, it takes about one day hiking to the foot of the pass. It's possible to sleep in the ancient refuge of the old skibase, or to install tents on the field of the old meteo station. At the pass, there is no track, and it's difficult to find his way. To have a guide is recommended.

At the pass, you can enjoy a great panoramic view of nearest peaks like Toktogul (4361 m.) and other 4000 m. peaks.

The pass open the way from Ala Archa valley to the Karakol-West valley on the other side of the Kyrgyz Alatoo range.

Ala-Archa Peaks KG

Fans of mountaineering in the gorge It is scarlet – Arch will be able to test the strength at tops. Here such tops as Two-horned (4380 m), Corona (4860 m) and peak of Semenova-Tyan-Shanskogo (4875 m) - the highest point of all Kyrgyz Ala-Too are located. In the same place all routes of the fifth category of difficulty are concentrated. Each of these tops has on several classified routes.

  • "Toktogul" - 4361 m above sea level
  • "Ak-Duval" - 4421 m above sea level

Ala-Bel pass KG

The pass of Ala-Bel is one of main "control points" on the highway Bishkek-Osh. He is located at the height of 3175 m above sea level on the Talas Ala-Too. The pass Chychkan connects the Suusamyrsky valley and the valley. Rise and descent from the pass rather flat.

Around the pass of one mountain, plentifully covered with snow in the winter therefore at this time the surrounding landscape reminds the white desert. Behind the pass the remarkable view of the Alpine meadows which during blossoming of herbs dazzle opens and extend just magic aroma. Parallel to the road the fast Chychkan River flows.

Ala-Kul lake KG

Ala Kul lake (or Ala Koel in Kyrgyz) is located in the upper part of the river Kurgaktor at an altitude of 3523 meters. The lake is 70 meters deep. Its origin is glacial and some glaciers are still visible, especially in the north of the lake. There is no island and the name in Kyrgyz means "colorfull". The lake can be reach by foot only in one day, from Altyn Arashan refuge or from Karakol valley.

Alamedin gorge KG

The Alamedin valley is one of the 2 valleys supplying water to the city of Bishkek. It lies to the east of the Ala Archa valley. It is very popular and owes its development during the Soviet era with the construction of a sanatorium around the mineral hot springs. The valley attracts many walkers, picnickers but also mountaineers because it is surrounded by the highest peaks of Kyrgyz Alatoo, such as the Simeon Tienshansky peak 4875m. alt. and the Alamedin Wall culminated by the Kyrgyzstan peak at 4840 meters. At the top of the valley, several passes open the way to the Karakol-West valley. All the passes are covered by glaciers and the easiest is the Alamedin-East Pass at the bottom of the Ashutor Gorge.

Alauddin lakes TJ

Alauddin consist in four small lakes, Chapdara (2 lakes) llying at an altitude of 2784 m, are considered as most beautiful lakes of Fan mountains. Alaudin lakes are situated at 3512 m. at the top of the gorge (2 lakes), also called Mutne which means from the Russian language "troubled's lake".

Alay Valley KG

The Alay valley is bordering Tajikistan on the South of Kyrgyzstan. The river name Kyzyl Suu or the "red river" and flew into Tajikistan. It's part of the Kyrgyz Pamir or named also Pamir Alay. The valley is wellknown for large flocks of yacks but also for its wellknow peak named "Lenin". Gulsho is its administrative center, and Sary Mogol village is one of largest village of the valley. In winter, life conditions are particulary difficult.

Alichur TJ

Small village above the Yashylkul's lake. The highest and coldest village in the ex-USRR. Inhabitants are mainly shepherd's and they raise mostly yaks.There are also rangers saving the snow leopard and others wild animals.
