Program

Manas International Airport

D 1 / Manas International Airport - Bishkek

Arrival in Bishkek. Meeting with the local guide in the airport. Transfer to the center of city. Having a rest. Lunch. Afternoon, visit of the capital. Dinner and return to the guest house. Overnight in guesthouse.

Issyk Kul

D 2 / Bishkek - Kyzyl Suu village

After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Issyk-Kul (1608 m). Did you know that Lake Issyk-Kul is the 2nd largest alpine lake in the world?  After lunch, we will arrive in the village of Kyzyl Suu / Pakrovka which is the regional center of the Jeti-Oguz district.  Our hosts will great us and we will spend the night in a guesthouse. 

Additional options for today: Visit of Burana tower, great of history loves; hiking in Konorchek canyon, great for trekking all year round; rafting in Chuy river, is great for adventure-seeking group of friends; visit a yurt maker in the village of Kyzyl Tuu, it's great option for someone looking to get close to the local culture; visit an Eagle Hunter or enjoy an Eagle hunting show to get an impression of the nomadic history of Kyrygz people; visit of Skazka canyon, to enjoy the trekking possibilities; visit of Barskoon valley and its three waterfalls it's best for nature lovers.

Juku valley

D 3 / Kyzyl Suu village - Jukutchak hot springs

We will go out of the village Kyzyl Suu and go towards Juku Valley. Today we will go through the forest and of course in the mountains. Overnight in tents.

D 4 / Jukutchak hot springs - Kichi-Kyzyl-Suu

Horseriding to the Jumatai pass. We pass by a abondant nature. Also will meet kyrgyz people who lives in the mountains during all year. We continue to climb towards the Jumatai Pass (3325 m). After lunch, we ride down into the Kichi-Kyzyl-Suu valley. Overnight in tents on the bank of the river.

Chong Kyzyl Suu valley

D 5 / Kichi-Kyzyl-Suu - Chong Kyzyl-Suu village

We ride down the Kichi-Kyzyl-Suu valley till low part of fir forest, then we ride to the Ak-Tash jailoo in the Chong Kyzyl Suu valley. In the afternoon, we ride up to the geo-physical station of Chong Kyzyl Suu by the hot springs pool of Jeli-Suu. Night in the refuge.

Glacier of the Chong Kyzyl Suu valley

D 6 / Ride to the Karabatkak glacier

In the morning, we ride up the valley of Karakabak. We follow an ancient dirty road, then, small ways link to the lake of the glacier. In the afternoon, back to the geo-physical station. Night in refuge.

D 7 / Chong Kyzyl Suu valley - Shataly lake

We ride down 2 km, then up into the Shataly gorge, the first part is quiet difficult, then the ride is easy till the glacier's lake of Shataly. Back by the same way. Night in the refuge.

Jeti Oguz

D 8 / Chong Kyzyl Suu valley - Jeti Oguz valley

That day we leave the Chong Kyzyl Suu valley. We ride down to join the Suttu Bulak valley. We ride between pastures and forest. In the evening we reach the Jeti-Oguz valley. Installation in the yurt. Overnight in yurt. (if winter time, we will finish our day at the Jeti Oguz sanatorium, night in a homestay).

Oguz Bashi peak

D 9 / Jeti Oguz valley - Jeti Oguz valley

Today, we ride up into the valley of Jeti Oguz to see the wide glaciers of the mount. First, we follow a dirty road in a fir-forest, the the landscape opens on big mountains. In the afternoon, back to the same yurt camp. Overnight in yurt. 

D 10 / Jeti Oguz sanatorium - Karakol

Horse riding to Kyzyl Djar, between desert and forest, we go down and see a red canyon. This is the end of our hiking and we leave our horseman. Transfer to Karakol. Night in guesthouse Hutorok.

Bishkek

D 11 / Karakol to Bishkek

After breakfast you will hit the road again. On the way, a stop will be at the house of an Eagle hunter. You wil be able to get to know him and his long traditions of hunting with eagles. You will have lunch on the way. Arrival in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 1926 to 1991 the city was known as Frunze named after the Bolshevik military leader Mihail Frunze. After the independence it was renamed Bishkek. City tour. Walk around the city. Visiting Ala-Too Square, the main square of Kyrgyzstan. Overnight in our guesthouse.

Manas International Airport

D 12 / Bishkek - Manas International Airport

Depending on your flight time, your guide will join you to the airport and help you check in for your flight.  If your flight is later in the day your guide will show you more places in Bishkek before your flight.

Remarks:

Since July 27, 2012, the visa is not any more required for the persons of Swiss, EU, US, Canadian and Japanese nationalities (in total 44 new countries, for more information visit nomadsland.kg); passport should be with minimum of 6 months validity for period of 60 days maximum. Vaccination is not mandatory.

Though Kyrgyzstan evidenced caravans over 3000 years it is still a young developing country and infrastructure of villages is not at a very high level. Refusing hospitality might be offensive and in order to avoid misunderstanding one had better to read some guidebooks and other books about Kyrgyzstan before getting prepared to visit.
