An all year around horse trek to the Song Kul's lake

This short horseriding program is open for experienced riders and also for amateur. The ride is easy in wide pastures. Starting and finishing point from Bishkek (possible to organize from another place). Main curiosities during the program are the Kyzart pass, the Kilemche pastures, the Djangy Bulak pass, overnight in yurt, the Song Kul's lake. This program is also adapted for the winter season.

Program

Kyzart pass

D 1 / Bishkek - Kilemche Jailoo

Transfer to Kyzart pass (alt.2670 m) where we will meet horses, afternoon horseback riding to the gorge Kilemche. Overnight in yurt (2600m.)

Tuz Ashuu (Song Kul's lake)

D 2 / Kilemche Jailoo - Tuz Ashuu (Song Kul)

Horseback riding to the Djangy Bulak pass (3437m.), then down into the Djaman Echki gorge, lunch in a nomad's yurt. Afternoon, ride down the Song Kul's lake, the by its shore till the Tuz Ashuu gorge, overnight in yurt

Jumgal valley

D 3 / Tuz Ashuu (Song Kul) - Jumgal

In the morning, we have a bit freetime to enjoy the nomadic life around our yurt camp, then we ride up to the Kara Kya pass (3120m), the lowest pass of the Song Kul's lake, lunch at the pass with splendid view of the lake and the Kyrgyz Alatoo. Then horse riding down to Jumgal village. Overnight in homestay

Boom

D 4 / Jumgal - Bishkek

Transfert to Bishkek, via Kochkor, the pass Kuaky and Boom canyon.

Remarks:

Since July 27, 2012, the visa is not any more required for the persons of Swiss, EU, US, Canadian and Japanese nationalities (in total 44 new countries, for more information visit nomadsland.kg); passport should be with minimum of 6 months validity for period of 60 days maximum. Vaccination is not mandatory.

Though Kyrgyzstan evidenced caravans over 3000 years it is still a young developing country and infrastructure of villages is not at a very high level. Refusing hospitality might be offensive and in order to avoid misunderstanding one had better to read some guidebooks and other books about Kyrgyzstan before getting prepared to visit.
