Program

CBT Chon Kemin map

D 1 / Manas International Airport - Chong Kemin

Arrival by air in Bishkek. Meeting with your guide at Manas airport. Transfer to Bishkek. City tour in Bishkek, then transfer to Chong Kemin valley through the Burana tower. Night in homestay.

Chong Kemin National Park

D 2 / Chong Kemin - Kel-Kogur lake

In the morning, after a short transfer by vehicle along the river canyon Chong Kemin, you will hike to lake Kongur at 2500m. alt. Slopes of this area are covered by fir forests. This mountainous lake has a unique trapezoidal shape. On the shore of the lake, we set up the camp and enjoy the wonderful sceneries around us. Dinner and overnight stay in a tent. (part of a minimum 2 days trekking program to Issyk Kul lake)

Kel Ter pass Diure-Suu

D 3 / Kel-Kogur lake - Tamchy

In the morning, we pass the pass at 3350m. alt. and we go down with a magnificent view of Lake Issyk Kul and the chain of Terskey Alatoo rising to over 5200 meters. By late afternoon, we reach our vehicle and we go along the north shore of Issyk Koel, "warm lake", the second largest alpine lake after Titicaca is the pearl of Kyrgyzstan. We stop in Tamchy, to spend the night. Free time for swimming. Overnight in guesthouse or homestay.

D 4 / Tamchy - Tash Doeboe (Song Kul)

Morning, drive to Song Kul's lake, at 3016 meter alt. This a pearl of Kyrgyzia, paradise for shepherds who are coing here during summer time with their stocks. Song Kul means the "farest lake". On the road, visit of handicraft women's association in Kochkor. Lunch at the inhabitant. Then drive to the South shore of the Song Kul's lake. Installation in a yurt camp. Free time for walking end of the afternoon. Dinner and night under yurt.

D 5 / Discovering day at Tash Doeboe (Song Kul)

The whole day is at our disposal to enjoy the silence and to discover the daily life of nomadic yurt. (options: demonstration nomadic games; hunt petroglyphs, walk or riding to the lake; discovery of nomadic lifestyle; Kyrgyz cooking classes.) Dinner and overnight in yurt.

Suusamyr valley

D 6 / Tash Doeboe (Song Kul) - Bishkek

In the morning, drive to Kyzyl Oy village where we will have lunch, through the Karakitchi pass 3350 m. Then we drive to the high valley of Suusamyr, visit of the Kojumkul village, name of a Kyrgyz hero of the last century. After, the road cross by a tunnel the mountains of the Kyrgyz Alatoo, and down to Bishkek. Dinner in local restaurant. Night in guesthouse.

Bishkek

D 7 / Visit of Bishkek

We will meet at 8 am at your guesthouse.  We will start our walking tour of Bishkek at the Frunze museum, which we will head thought he Panfilov Park, to Ala Too Square, Frunze museum in Oak Park, with a stop at the Museum of Fine Arts, then we will head to Victory square where we will have a traditional lunch.  In the afternoon we will visit Osh bazar where you will be able to get close to local people and buy some souvenirs.  We will be able to enjoy dinner at a traditional restaurant where we will be able to sample many dishes.  After dinner, we will be transferred back to the guesthouse.

 

Manas International Airport

D 8 / Bishkek - Manas International Airport

Depending on your flight time, your guide will join you to the airport and help you check in for your flight.  If your flight is later in the day your guide will show you more places in Bishkek before your flight.

Remarks:

Since July 27, 2012, the visa is not any more required for the persons of Swiss, EU, US, Canadian and Japanese nationalities (in total 44 new countries, for more information visit nomadsland.kg); passport should be with minimum of 6 months validity for period of 60 days maximum. Vaccination is not mandatory.

This is a draft program. It can be changed due to changes of flight schedules, safetely reasons, weather conditions and others imponderable or unforeseen conditions. Only our tour guide is authorized to take the necessary decisions. Prices are calculated daily and are subject to change in case of wide fluctuations in prices or exchange rates.

Though Kyrgyzstan evidenced caravans over 3000 years it is still a young developing country and infrastructure of villages is not at a very high level. Refusing hospitality might be offensive and in order to avoid misunderstanding one had better to read some guidebooks and other books about Kyrgyzstan before getting prepared to visit.
