Are you looking for an adventure? At Nomad's Land we really love organizing unique trips, in the closest collaboration possible with the local families.

From end of April till beginning of June, the Kyrgyz shepherds leave their villages to go to the Jailoo (pastureland), together with their families, livestock, yurt, furniture, and basically everything. It is a party time for the families and the villages come back to life after the freezing winter months.

This year, we propose you to join this event, and to participate to the moving to the Jailoo with one family from At-Bashy village to their jailoo at Kok Kyia, next to Kel Suu lake.

Program (will most likely be modified due to the "shepherd factor'):

Day 1: Bishkek - At Bashy
We leave Bishkek by public transportation to reach At-Bashy village, in the region of Naryn. Once there, we meet Meder and his family in their house where we get accommodated for the night.

Day 2 - Day 5
We prepare the last stuff to be taken, saddle the horses and leave the village together with the livestock.
During these 5 days, we ride around 120km and pass by wonderful sceneries, pine tree forests, high mountain passes, desolated steppes, together with the livestock constituted of maybe 200 sheep, horses and cows.
Every evening, we build the camp, light a fire, have dinner and sleep in tents.
At the end of the transhumance, we arrive at the jailoo next to Kel Suu lake.

Day 6:
Today you can either rest or go walking to Kel Suu lake (2hrs), one of the most stunning landscapes you will ever see in Kyrgyzstan.

Day 7:
We drive back to At Bashi village in the truck (limited comfort). Night in At Bashi village.

Day 8:
Drive back to Bishkek by public transportation, after this unique and incredible trip in the heart of the Kyrgyz nomadic culture.
