15 days program of horseback riding from the North to the Center of Kyrgyzstan

This program was specifically designed for horse lovers. The route is not difficult but requires to be comfortable in the saddle. A journey through many types of landscapes from north to central Kyrgyzstan: to the lake Song Kul.

Manas International Airport - Bishkek

Arrival in Bishkek. Meeting with the local guide in the airport. Transfer to the center of city. Having a rest. Lunch. Afternoon, visit of the capital. Dinner and return to the guest house. Overnight in guesthouse.

Bishkek - Suusamyr

Day of transfer to the Suusamyr valley. On the way stop at the bazaar Belovodskaya, before the passage of the tunnel Toe Ashuu, stroll to the lakes of the cervix and picnic. In the afternoon, we descend into the valley Suusamyr Overnight in Homestay .

Suusamyr - Chong-Suu (jailoo)

In the morning, we drive to the start of our horsetrek, and begin to ride along the mountain lakes to the Korumdu. In the afternoon, we reach the pass of Kumbel and settle into a yurt camp in there against the latter. Overnight in yurt. 

Chong-Suu (jailoo) - Kyzyl Oy

Descent by the Chong Suu valley to the village of Kyzyl Oy, time to relax or enjoy a shower. Homestay overnight.

Kyzyl Oy - Koebiuk (jailoo)

We climb today in Kоebiuk valley, our goal is to find a yurt camp in the highlands of Gosh-Bel. Overnight in yurt.

Koebiuk (jailoo) - Birlik (jailoo)

Today, we ride to the pass Kyrk Kyz (3220m. alt.) and then down into the Birlik pastures. Overnight in tents.

Birlik (jailoo) - Kyzyl Korgon

We descend to the river Kekemeren, a canyon with red rocher walls, lined with gray-green meadows. Then we go up the canyon to the village of Kyzyl Korgon. Overnight in tents or at homestay.

Kyzyl Korgon - Dungurume (Ming-Kush)

We continue up the canyon to the intersection of Ming Kush valley and set up camp in the valley parallel Dungurumé. Overnight in tents.

Dungurume (Ming-Kush) - Ming-Kush (jailoo)

In the morning, we pass a small hill, the path is on the mountainside, then down between the red ocher mountains to the road of Ming Kush. In the afternoon, we reach the ghost town of Ming Kush, and then we continue our road to the pasture. Overnight in tents.

Ming-Kush (jailoo) - Donguz

We continue to climb in the Ming-Kush valley to the plateau and Donguz pass overlooking the valley Karakeche. Overnight in tents.

Donguz - Karakeche pass

In the morning, we go down the pass and into the Karaketche valley known for its open coal mines. We find our way between the mines and join the road to Song-Kul. In the afternoon, we go up the pass of Karaketche and descent to the first pasture. Overnight in tents.

Karakeche pass - Tulpar Tash (Song Kul)

In the morning, we descend to the lake Song-Kul, through huge meadows and a multitude yurt camp . At noon we arrive at our camp. End of the trek on horseback. Overnight in yurt.

Tulpar Tash (Song Kul) - Tamchy

In the morning, free time to enjoy the silence and the steppes to discover the nomadic life of Lake Song-Kul. After lunch, we drive around the lake and get out of this wide basin to find the small village of Tamchy the shores of Issyk Kul Lake. Overnight in homestay.

Tamchy - Bishkek

After a short morning swim, we hit the road to Bishkek. Arriving early afternoon for city tour. Night in guesthouse.

Options : rafting in Chuy or Chong Kemin river; hiking in the Konorchek canyon, visit of the Chong Kemin valley, visit of Burana tower and the Balasagun ancient city, baths in hot water springs of Issyk Ata.

Bishkek - Manas International Airport

Depending on your flight time, your guide will drive you from Bishkek to airport. Check-in. Flight back home or further.

Remarks:

Since July 27, 2012, the visa is not any more required for the persons of Swiss, EU, US, Canadian and Japanese nationalities (in total 44 new countries, for more information visit nomadsland.kg); passport should be with minimum of 6 months validity for period of 60 days maximum. Vaccination is not mandatory.

This is a draft program. It can be changed due to changes of flight schedules, safetely reasons, weather conditions and others imponderable or unforeseen conditions. Only our tour guide is authorized to take the necessary decisions. Prices are calculated daily and are subject to change in case of wide fluctuations in prices or exchange rates.

Though Kyrgyzstan evidenced caravans over 3000 years it is still a young developing country and infrastructure of villages is not at a very high level. Refusing hospitality might be offensive and in order to avoid misunderstanding one had better to read some guidebooks and other books about Kyrgyzstan before getting prepared to visit.
