12 days: hiking and discovering - four seasons

Nomad's Land and his team would like to introduce you to a fascinating region perched in the middle of the Tien Shan. Kyrgyzstan, a country of nomads, in the heart of Central Asia, largely unexplored, here mountains offers a wonderful playground for all nature and virgin land lovers . The Kyrgyz people which has preserved its tradition of hospitality live peacefully in a surprising variety of landscapes and making this country the pearl of Central Asia: steppes, prairies, deserts, but also canyons, high alpine valleys, lakes and turquoise waters. This global program allows you to visit Kyrgyzstan at any season of the year and has been adapted specifically even during the winter.

Bishkek - Cholpon-Ata

Arrival in Bishkek. In the morning, we briefly visit the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, a former garrison Tsar built by Frunze visit the capital and its sights. Transfer to the east to Lake Issyk Kul, more than 1600 m. altitude .. Overnight in guesthouse or hotel.

Cholpon-Ata - Karakol

After breakfast, visit petroglyphes, Museum Cholpon-Ata and Tuyp's Kurgan. On the road, in the afternoon we will visit the town of Karakol, the Memorial Museum Prjevalski. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in guesthouse or hotel in Karakol

Karakol - Altyn Arashan hot water springs

Half an hour transfer by vehicle to the alpine valley of Altyn Arashan. Then walk up to the hot springs where we will spend the night (4-5 hours walking, free time, swimming in the radon source) at 2600 m altitude. Overnight and meals in a shelter's home.

Altyn Arashan hot water springs - Karakol

Hiking down to Ak-Suu village, 4 hours, then transfer to Karakol. Night in guesthouse or hotel.

Karakol - Chong Kyzyl Suu meteo station

In the morning we take our vehicle to the gorge Chon Kyzyl-Suu. On the way, visit a fabulous throat "Jeti-Oguz" (September Bulls). Then transfer to the village Chon Kyzyl-Suu where you start the walking (3h) night meal in a refuge, a former geo-physic station (2500 m).

After breakfast, hiking into the direction of the Archa Toer pass. 3860 m. alt. Night and dinner in the same place. (2500 m)

Chong Kyzyl Suu meteo station - Kochkor

Today we drive by the south shore of Lake Issyk-Kul (warm lake). On the way, visit a fantastic place calling "Skazka". Picnic by the lake then we visit at Bokonbaeva village with a famous hunter eagle. He tells us about his interesting life. In the afternoon arrival in Kochkor. Dinner at homestay in Kochkor.

Kochkor - Toktogul

To reach the Toktogul city, we drive all day, crossing two passes over 3000m and traveling along the beautiful rivers named "Koekoemeren" and "Chychkan". 

Visit the Kojmokul museum. It was named about a tall man (2m20 and 180kg weight) living in the early twentieth century.

Kara-Suu village - Arslanbob village

On morning, if the road it's open, visit of Sary Chelek lakes. Then we drive south to the village of Arslanbob. This village has an immence forest walnut of 60 thousand hectares 60 in the mountain areas of Fergana. Other life, culture and people, it is a village populated by Uzbeks. Night meals guest house in Arslanbob.

Today we walking through the village to reach the waterfall. Picnic at the foot of the waterfall. During the afternoon, stroll in the forest of walnut. Night and meals in homestay in Arslanbob.

Arslanbob village - Bishkek

Early in the morning breakfast, then transfer to the south. Drive along the fields of Uzbek farmers in the Fergana Valley. Visit the minaret of the eleventh century and the mausoleum of Shah-Fazil and have lunch in a local restaurant in Uzgen. Afternoon, visit of Osh city, its market and the Throne of King Solomon (a hill in the middle of town called "Suliman Too"). Late afternoon flight Osh-Bishkek. Overnight in a guest house or hotel in Bishkek.

Remarks:

Since July 27, 2012, the visa is not any more required for the persons of Swiss, EU, US, Canadian and Japanese nationalities (in total 44 new countries, for more information visit nomadsland.kg); passport should be with minimum of 6 months validity for period of 60 days maximum. Vaccination is not mandatory.

This is a draft program. It can be changed due to changes of flight schedules, safetely reasons, weather conditions and others imponderable or unforeseen conditions. Only our tour guide is authorized to take the necessary decisions. Prices are calculated daily and are subject to change in case of wide fluctuations in prices or exchange rates.

Though Kyrgyzstan evidenced caravans over 3000 years it is still a young developing country and infrastructure of villages is not at a very high level. Refusing hospitality might be offensive and in order to avoid misunderstanding one had better to read some guidebooks and other books about Kyrgyzstan before getting prepared to visit.
